Reads up to be doing well, I haven't had the chance to try this 1 as the approx 4 week wait for 1 to come is far too long and something that should be considered before purchasing
These, so far, seem to be more waterproof than the jacket at least! They don't however like being knelt in, which often forces water through on the legs. They also don't seal great around boots. I've actually come to realise I've not used my pair in so long because I always have a better option to hand. For the money, they are actually quite basic. They'll do a job, but I'm not sure I'd buy them again.
Top of the league. Every angler has a bit of Gemini in their box due to the very high quality, have a look at their sea fishing catalogue its awesome..
A well established tackle shop owned and run by 1 of the nicest blokes you could meat also very knowledgeable staff with first class bait and info on all aspects of angling
The perfect Bodo location - offering quick access to both fjords and open sea. Ideal for groups of up to 4 people.
If you treat it as a £50 reel it will serve you OK, pleasant to use and felt smooth on the retrieve, but not in the same class as a Akios or Abu 6500 sized reel
seems these have been tarred since the problems with a batch of sk3 rods a few years back but when they brought out the gravity surf they ticked plenty of boxes for the match angler light, great finish and most of all a excellent fishing tip and will send a bait a long way with a simple otg cast
I use these on all my rigs and have never failed me. Cheap and reliable these swivels can handle any thing and do not rust
I have been using the 25lb Red Ice on my Slosh30s for fishing in the Bristol Channel for a few years now and have found it ok. It has a lot of stretch in it which gives a nice cushion when playing a good fish through the tide but does make it hard to tighten up to pull out of a snag.
Good size box for the shore or boat angler. Ideal for a Breakaway Backpack conversion. Strong, solid and will take a lot of abuse.
Unbelievable reel. Casts a dream when magged, easy to get thumb over, incredible retrieve rate of 7.3:1, 24b of drag... couldn't ask for more, and lighter than the Saltiga version (all metal) without sacrificing too much component wise.
I brought this rod as a combo as a cheap way to see if I preferred fixed spool to multis, after a couple of casts it turns out I do! This is not a continental rod but a long uk style fixed spool rod, it has good sized rings and adequate fittings. The only real downside of the rod is the weight, it's proper heavy! But I was expecting that at this price point anyway. I used it with 5oz weights and half bluey's,peelers, small squid and worms. It casts these out just fine. If someone has a £100 budget for a beach rod then I would recommend this. It set me on the right path and I've now invested in a top end rod.
Great advice, great service, great selection, great rod and reel repairs. Nick, there owner, is a brilliant bloke and always up for a bit of banter or just a fishing chat. Also if you spend all of your pocket money in there for 3 years solid he might, I said might, make you a cup of coffee. Might.
I have had mine for four years now , was looking a bit tatty so tried out a few different rods but kept coming back to this so I decided to just spend some money on getting it rebuilt , never looked back it's always the first rod out of the bag big thumbs up , great over mixed ground with enough back bone to cope with big fish 10/10
An excellent fishery that is still very natural and presents a challenge and true tests of reading the water, unlike many overstocked commercial pools these days.
Good piece of kit keeps all your rigs nice and tidy so you know we're your rigs are well worth the buy at a good price to
What more do you need ...A fishing dream to become a reality without the hassle..All in Angling supply it all with great locations, fantastic guides to max out fishing potential and home cooked grub..An amazing present for any angler, group or singles..
I like using Greased Weasel 70 because it's easy to tie and holds most things. for an example I was fishing Ladrum bay off of a small small rowing boat sized boat with my father-in-law and we got caught in the race but luckily my rod and line knots held strong and kept us from floating away as if we were anchored to the bottom, long enough for my father-in-law to pull in his 3lb pollack. I think this a good test to the strength and quality for Greased Weasel, so for this I give it the big thumbs up.
Disappointed with this smock. The front pocket quickly resembles a live well in moderate rain and my arms get soaked almost immediately. I've a feeling it's to do with the seams and not coping well with stretching. It's a shame, as the fact it is light weight, can be washed easily and folds up nice and small makes it the perfect summer smock... If I hadn't had the leaking issues. Another pet hate... I never know what to do with my hands when wearing this smock, being so used to pockets on other options. I get that pockets are hard to keep waterproof - so that's probably the thinking behind this. If you are buying one of these, I'd recommend getting one with plenty of room when putting on over layers, as I'm certain it's the stretching of the seams that causes waterproofing issues.
I like to use these as a general connection clip on my carp rod set up when targeting spring bass and codling. The size and breaking strain are perfect for use on small neat traces. And they can be used over and over again!
Always a pleasure to deal with these never had any problems with the bait or delivery always solid frozen
I fished portishead pier last week so decided to pop up to the local tackle shop (reel fun) just to grab a few bits and some worms, (which I did not need) just thinking I could have a nose and hopefully meet and speak to a few locals and to say the least I wasn not very happy with customer service and they had no worms left at 9am so was a little disappointed with that but the shear bluntness of the guy behind the till was shocking. I think it's fair to say I will be taking my custom else where next time or spend it at my local tackle shop Garry Evans where I am always made to feel welcome
I have used Veals mail order for many years. Always excellent service with orders arriving quickly. Superb range of products at very competitive prices. If you sign up for membership you get discount on all products. Have always found staff very helpful when called for information about stuff. If you need to return anything or something is not right(these things do happen) then they give 1st class aftersales service to. Would highly recommend to anyone, tried others but Veals are by far the best.

Just want to say a big thank you to Dave Brown and his team at Breakaway Tackle for all your help and Quality Tackle that you have sent me . The service is fantastic and if help is needed then there is someone to help you . Cant say enough about the Breakaway Team . Many many thanks to you all
This is the reel you want for big fish over heavy ground the reel golds plenty off line and is a beast just like the saltist 20s this reel will cast a long way and has the power to bully big fish
I wouldn't be without this, though I'm sure a mark 2 with a few adjustments would go down well. Firstly, it could do with easier quick adjustment of the straps, so that it can quickly be loosened to put on/off, then tightened when on. It can be a pain to take on and off when tightened up, but doesn't sit right if too loose. Secondly, a bit of padding would be a nice extra :) All in all though, I'm only picking bones, a quality almost essential piece of kit, and far more robust than other offerings on the market.
Excellent thought out ideas and manufactured to a high standard,Dave's very helpful and will always go the extra mile to please!
Having been a zziplex low reel pendulum caster for the last 20 years or so..I was somewhat reluctant to change to 3 piece rods and fixed spool reels but some extremely good anglers were making the switch so I thought I'd get myself a Cobra GT 4.2 to see what it was like... Well..I was so impressed with it that I have now sold all my Zziplexes and multis and got myself a pair of 4.2 Cobras teamed up with a pair of Shimano Ultegra xsc reels. Christchurch Angling have supplied me with 6 teflon spools and low diameter mono to cover all options and I honestly believe these rods will do everything I need. .the power is incredible but with a superb tip and the more I use them the more I'm getting out of them. I won't be swinging lead ever again..there's no need to. .just a Brighton Cast goes a long way..I'm am a very happy Cobra user .
Having been recommended to the Rock Grip Studs some 2 years ago they are a must have for the Angler who fishes rocky slippery marks. These really do work..
Great swivels I use for my 3 or 2 hook rigs never fail me when it hits the water will continue to buy good price aswell
Great hooks always use the 8/0 Mear Hooks for all my conger fishing and has handled many eels over 30lb and a couple over 40 :)
The first product I bought off Dave was the rig tidy, I broke it while fitting (totally my fault) without hesitation I received a replacement despite saying it was my own fault. Top bloke and top products.
Although a warm smock, too many people saying they are failing at the seams and as such losing waterproof abilities
A fantastic addition to your rig if you use cheaper leads, un-clips every time without fail Again though the same problem as with the Splashdown weights, anything over a 4/0 hook depending on hook brand will not fit in the clip
Imo one of the best tapered leaders on the market a must have on the light lines, fixed spool and continental set up.
matty is a top bloje who looks after his customers nothing to much trouble for him have bought a number of things from him his ready tied rigs are second to none also i buy all my loose bits like hooks etc from him nice quality at a good price and great service post is quick aswell highly recommend matty at boss sea rigs for all aspects of sea fishing
Fantastic product The link being closed (inside) makes it virtually snag free, great for fishing into kelp etc Also a fast rig changing item when used on the end of your leader
